Information we collect

• Orders and accounts: your name, email address, billing and shipping addresses, telephone number when provided, account details, books ordered, order notes, and order history.
• Payments: payment status, transaction references, and limited payment-method details supplied by the payment provider. Card details are handled through the provider’s payment fields; please never send card numbers or security codes by email or in order notes.
• Messages and reviews: information you send us, including return requests and photographs you choose to provide. Reviews you submit may display your chosen name, review text, and rating publicly. Do not include private contact or payment information in a review.
• Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, pages requested, timestamps, and security and error logs generated when you use the site.

How we use information

We use information to process and deliver orders, calculate applicable taxes, manage accounts and returns, answer questions, send order and account messages, prevent fraud and abuse, troubleshoot the website, understand basic site usage, and maintain records required for accounting and legal obligations. Creating an account is optional when guest checkout is available.

Service providers and disclosures

Our store runs on WordPress and WooCommerce and is hosted by SiteGround. We use service providers for hosting, email delivery, payments, tax calculations, shipping labels, and delivery. They receive information needed for the service being used. For example, a carrier needs the recipient’s name and delivery address; a payment provider needs payment and transaction information; and a tax service may receive destination and order information.

Depending on the payment or delivery option used, these services can include Stripe or WooPayments, WooCommerce services operated by Automattic, shipping-label services such as ShipStation, and the delivery carrier. Authorized store staff can access information needed to support you and manage the store. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or legal claims. Following a link to another site, or buying through a separate marketplace, is subject to that site’s practices.

Cookies and similar technologies

WordPress, WooCommerce, and payment services use cookies or similar storage to maintain your cart, keep you signed in, remember choices, and protect transactions. If you choose to remember your details when commenting, those details may be stored in your browser. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, although signing in, keeping a cart, or completing checkout may stop working correctly.

If a review or comment displays a Gravatar, an email-derived identifier may be sent to Automattic’s Gravatar service to retrieve it. Embedded content from another website, when present, can receive your IP address and apply that provider’s cookies or tracking rules.

Retention and security

We keep information for as long as needed for the purposes described here, including account support, order history, returns, tax and accounting records, fraud prevention, and legal claims. Closing an account or requesting deletion does not require us to remove records that we must retain. Backups may retain copies until they are replaced through the normal backup cycle.

We use access controls, encrypted website connections, and hosting security tools. No website or transmission method is completely secure. You should use a unique password and contact us if you suspect unauthorized account activity.

Your choices and requests

You can review and update available account details in My Account. To request access to, a copy of, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, email hello@parkstreetbooksellers.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We will handle requests in accordance with applicable law and explain any retention requirement or other limitation that applies. Any additional privacy rights depend on your location and applicable law.

Service providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate. The store is intended for purchases by adults, including adults buying children’s books. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
